DECORATIVE NATURE-THEMED RAIN BARRELS
BY ANNE MILLIGAN (ARTIST)
270-307-0150 or info@annemilligan.com

Made from RECYCLED
plastic drums and "rescued" paint
If you are interested in harvesting rain water,
and would like a 100% waterproof customized rain barrel, give us a call.
For water quality purposes, capturing rainwater before it becomes stormwater runoff not only decreases the amount of stormwater that may need treatment, but it also decreases the amount of water that quickly runs off urbanized land into local streams, often carrying pollutants from human activities and scouring gravel from their beds, deepening and degrading them in the process. In Kentucky, the Kentucky Waterways Alliance and the Nature Conservancy are working hard to protect the integrity of our water systems.
Anne Milligan
paints all of these barrels with themes relevant to nature and its creatures, and the preservation of our beautiful miracle planet. Personalized themes are available upon request. All of the 55-gallon barrels are rescued from local establishments and the paint is salvaged from recent painting projects as much as possible. Barrels include an overflow pipe, a threaded capped hole for periodic cleaning, a spigot near the bottom, and a connecting collar for attaching to the house/roof downspout. Just a 10-15 minute hard rainfall can fill up the whole barrel and your plants will THRIVE on harvested rain water.
HUMMINGBIRDS
This is original artwork by Anne Milligan, of Louisville Kentucky.
Barrels are sealed to withstand the elements.
Custom-ordered, pesonalized rain barrels include a personal consultation and the total cost is $350. Some barrels are donated to organizations and businesses working for a sustainable way on life on the planet.
Similar versions of the three barrels below(Hummingbirds, Monarch Butterfly, and Sunflower themes) are currently available, with more to themes to come soon!
If you live in the Louisville, Kentucky area or surrounding states, pick up or delivery may be available.
MONARCH BUTTEFLIES & THEIR HABITATS
Did You Know? Each year aproximately 180-280 million Monarchs start migrating, mate, lay eggs along the way and their children continue the round trip. Milkweed is needed along the entire route or they will not survive. It takes more than one milkweed plant for each surviving adult due to natural predators. That is an enormous amount of milkweed! Most North Americans were very lucky to have seen even one Monarch Butterfly over the past few years.

CREATIVE USES FOR ARTISAN RAIN BARRELS • Instead of a drainage pipe from the roof to the rain barrel, you can use a RAIN CHAIN.
• Build a native wildflower garden around your themed rain barrel and include other "functional art" to go with that theme. For example, you might order a hummingbird rain barrel and place hummingbird feeders, hummer-loving plants, and other hummingbird art around your garden.
• Display a custom-ordered barrel for your business establishment--creating a "buzz" with local customers.
• Display your own passion related to nature and conservation (i.e., monarch butterflies, green waterways, bicycling, etc.,) with a personalized rain barrel.
